Mr. Braska reached MIDIbox HQ in Munich and was welcomed by Thorsten aka. TK with a traditional wheat beer and a nice midibox.org sticker as a present.

The little frog was very excited to sit on the famous original MIDIbox SID prototype that he only knew from pictures before:

He quickly jumped to one of his most favorite knobs and started to tweak on a lovely bassline. He was completely stunned from the unique SID sounds:

And he couldn’t resist to program a suitable drum sequence:

Of course, he also wanted to get his hands on the brilliant MB-6582 design which TK got as a present from Wilba:

And the MB-808 that evolved from a joint work with Moogah:

It was late in the evening, and Mr. Braska swinged into a sweet slumber, curious about the other projects that he will explore in the next days.

Oscar (nickname: sound on electro-music.com) is from Spain but lives in Greece. We had the pleasure to meet him in person and take a peek at his lab.

He has a very organized electronics lab and there is a whole room devoted to music and sound with the “table” as its center!

On the far left side there are two wonderful semi-modular synths. Both cwejman sound.

There is a S1 MK2 and an S2.

The S2 has serial number 11!! (Oscar tells me that there were only thirteen S2 produced EVER!)

Oscar builds his own module: the Τεσσερα (Tessera).

In his own words:
“The Tessera is a 4 SSM2164 VCAs, with linear response like Mike Irwin, with control over their offset or initial level. One signal IN, one CV IN, one switch per channel that allow to invert the signal before that it enter in the mixer, and the mixer give us, the direct outs of all the channels, 1,2,3 and 4, the sums of 1+2, ALL, 3+4 and 3+4’.

It is a very useful module that it is able to process AC signals and DC signals. It is very clean, start to distort the signals over 20V peak to peak. You can control, manual and with voltage, the amplitude of the signal, sum, split and invert, so also subtract signals. “

Mr. Braska happily sits among four Serge VCS modules. Sadly, this module has been discontinued.

As a electro-music dweller, sound could only have such modules:
Dual Sheboygans and dual Mankatos! He is the reason I got a couple of PCBs of both!! (Hear hear!)

Well, the tour of Vinnui’s home and lab has finished.. Mr. Braska will attend a
salsa party from what I hear and then will take off to another destination,
still in Hungary!

Outside vinnui’s house is like a small forest, and Mr. Braska felt right at home

Our hosts, Balazs (vinnui) and Kende (his son) were very loving and took
good care of the little frog. Kende was so sweet and he made Mr. Braska
remember his former occupation, being a toy, before becoming a synth model.

Now the little frog has to travel again. So, until further notice, bye bye
from Mr. Braska. He will send us photos when he arrives at the next stop!
